      In flat slab structures, slab drops and column capitals are used mainly. These are provided to improve slab shear capacity at slab – column joints. This provision will provide more depth to resist shearing.
      Since there will not be beams in flat slab arrangement, the vertical load will be gradually transferred from slab drops to column capitals to column through shear.
