An Intermediate sight is defined as readings which are taking just after back sight and before fore sight.
Taking of Intermediate sight (I.S): –
- In levelling, after setting up of instrument first take back sight (B.S) reading on benchmark or TBM.
- An intermediate sight (I.S) is staff reading taken on the points of unknown elevation.
- It is done when all staff reading is visible.
- When taking of more than two reading from same position, after first reading up to fore sight (F.S) all readings are intermediate sight (I.S).
