      AADT: AADT stands for Annual Average Delay Traffic.

      • It is defined as the average 24 hours volume at a location calculated over 365 days or a year.
      • It includes seasonal variations in traffic.

      Calculation of AADT:

      i. Hourly Expansion Factor ( HEF ): It is defined as the ratio of the day traffic volume to the hourly volume of the particular hour.

      HEF = 24 hours traffic volume ÷ Hourly volume of that particular hour

      ii. Daily Expansion Factor ( DEF ): It is defined as the ratio of the weekly traffic volume to the average volume of the day.

      DEF = Weekly traffic volume ÷ Average 24 hours Volume of the day

      iii. Average Daily Traffic ( ADT ): It is defined as the ratio of weekly volume to the number of days in a week.

      ADT = weekly volume ÷ 7

      iv. Annual Average Delay Traffic ( AADT ) = It is defined as the ratio of the Number of vehicles in a year to the number of days in a year.

      AADT = Number of vehicles in a year ÷ 365

      v. Monthly Expansion Factor ( MEF ) = It is defined as the ratio of the annual average daily traffic to the average daily traffic of that month.

      MEF = AADT ÷ ADT of that month
